At Dentistry on Sinclair we use the latest in digital technology to assist us in your oral health care. Digital x-rays allow your dentist to better detect, diagnose and treat oral problems and diseases. They produce better quality images than the older traditional type of x-rays and have up to 80 percent less radiation. With digital x-rays we are instantly able to share your images with you, either on our computer screen or on one of the flat screen T.V.’s that we have in each of our treatment rooms. By seeing what your dentist sees you are able to make a more educated decision regarding your treatment. Digital x-rays are easily stored as electronic files within our dental software, enabling us to access them quickly any time you wish to see them. Digital x-rays are also a “greener” alternative to the traditional style as there are no chemicals involved in any part of the process.
Digital Panoramic X-Rays
A panoramic x-ray shows a broad view of the patient’s entire mouth including the surrounding tissues and structures. These x-rays allow your dentist to see problems such as bone abnormalities, cysts, tumors, infections, fractures and impacted teeth. With a panoramic x-ray there are no sensors placed inside the mouth. Instead the head of the panoramic machine moves slowly around the outside of the patient’s head. The image is then instantly available on the computer screen.
Digital pictures are taken of the teeth and inside of the mouth with a small, sleek, pen style intra oral camera. The camera is placed in the desired area, a button is pressed and the image is instantly available on our computer screen or on one of the flat screen T.V.’s that we have in each of our treatment rooms. Digital pictures allow us to show you what your dentists see. If you have a broken tooth or filling, we can actually show you what the tooth looks like so you are better able to understand why your dentist is prescribing treatment for that problem.
Digital Patient Records
At Dentistry on Sinclair we use digital patient records to record all of your dental information. This gives us quick and easy access to all our patient information. The records are safely stored and secured on our server. Digital patient records are an eco friendly choice as they eliminate the need for paper charts.
To make your visits more enjoyable we have installed flat screen T.V.s in each of our treatment rooms and in our kids play area. This not only allows us to share your dental images with you but also allows us to provide you with entertainment for the duration of your appointment. Sit back and relax to your favorite show or choose from one of the many movies we have on file and let the kids play their favorite video games or watch a movie while they wait.
Zoom Laser Whitening
Zoom is a professional strength tooth whitening system that is performed in the office, using a laser to whiten your teeth up to 8 shades in just one appointment. The laser interacts with a gel that is painted on each tooth, causing the release of oxygen which permeates the tooth, whitening it. The result is a whiter, brighter, more youthful smile and a more confident you!
